FUNCTION AND DUTIES OF THE FACULTY OF NATURAL SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY

The Faculty of Natural Science and Technology, formerly known as the Faculty of Natural Sciences in Nha trang Education College, is one of the leading faculties of Khanh Hoa University, with a history of more than 40 years of construction and development.

The Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology has four main duties:

1. Training: The faculty organizes training in the areas of natural sciences and technology. Currently, it provides undergraduate training in Chemistry (Environmental Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry), Applied Biology (Materials for Medicine, Advanced Studies in Agriculture). In addition, with a tradition of over 40 years, the faculty continues to offer Associate Degrees in pedagogical and non-pedagogical majors of Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, and Information Technology.

More specifically, the responsibilities of the faculty are:

- To administer the teaching and learning activities of the entrusted subjects; to participate in the compilation and evaluation of the training programs according to the university regulations;

- To manage staff and students in accordance with the decentralization of the Rector;

- To develop training programs for the branches and specialties designated by the school; to plan and organize educational and training activities in accordance with the university's overall strategy;

- To organize the development of training programs, manuals, projects, textbooks and other educational materials in compliance with the overall development orientation of the school and the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; to arrange the compilation of thorough outlines of linked disciplines to ensure consistency;

- To develop and implements techniques for testing and evaluating students' learning and training results to ensure that learners' output standards are in accordance with the stated commitments, and satisfy the labor market's demand for employment;

- To coordinate research to improve, innovate, and enhance teaching and learning methods;

- To organize activities to develop the professional skills of learners, help them to have practical knowledge about the profession they are trained in; to connect with employers, and meet the requirements of businesses and society.

2. Scientific Research: Science is the strength of the faculty. Every year, many professors and faculty staff participate in scientific projects at the State, Ministry, and University levels. A large amount of scientific literature is published in prestigious international scientific journals. In addition, the faculty compiles academic programs, learning materials, and monographs; guides students in scientific research; plans and organizes annual scientific and technological activities according to the University's overall plan.

3. Staff management and development: The faculty creates a plan to assure the quality of teaching staff as well as training vocations, and training facilities; establishes plans and directs the teaching of politics, ideology, ethics, and lifestyle to teachers and students; conducts the evaluation of faculty managers, lecturers, and researchers and takes part in the evaluation of academic administrators in accordance with university regulations. A training and retraining plan is in place to improve the professional qualifications of faculty instructors and staff.

4. Other duties: The faculty also performs many other responsibilities and tasks assigned by the Rector of Khanh Hoa University, or as a result of social needs.

The Faculty of Natural Science and Technology is proud to have a team of lecturers with professional competence, research capacity, long experience, and enthusiasm. Updating knowledge and innovating teaching methods is a regular task of every member of the faculty. In order to best meet the requirements of the Ministries and Sectors, each professional group and lecturer consistently makes efforts in professional activities and self-improvement, being an example of self-study for generations of learners to follow.
