History of the University of Khanh Hoa
On August 3rd, 2015, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1234/QD-TTg to establish the University of Khanh Hoa by merging Nha Trang Pedagogical College and Nha Trang College of Culture, Arts and Tourism.
With the consent of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee of Khanh Hoa Province, on September 18th, 2015 the Steering Committee for the Establishment of the University of Khanh Hoa held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's decision on the establishment of the university.

Nha Trang Pedagogical College was established on April 1, 1976, officially recognized under Decision No. 164/TTg dated March 21, 1978 of the Prime Minister. Nha Trang Pedagogical College is one of the cultural and scientific centers of Khanh Hoa province, located in the heart of the coastal city of Nha Trang - a famous tourist city of the country.
The goal of the college, which has been determined since its foundation, is to train elementary and junior high school teachers; improve standards for teachers and foster management skills for school administrators in Khanh Hoa province. Since 1989, the college has been assigned with the task of training and doing high-quality multi-disciplinary and multi-field scientific research, serving the socio-economic goals of Khanh Hoa province and the whole country.
Nha Trang Pedagogical College
In the process of establishment and development, the college has constantly been growing. The staff includes 01 Associate Professor, 15 doctors, 23 PhD candidates participating in the training of 30,000 teachers at all levels within Khanh Hoa province and in other provinces. In addition to training elementary and junior high school teachers at the pedagogical college level, the college also cooperates with pedagogical universities in the region to provide regular and specialized training for over 5000 primary school and secondary school teachers. With its contribution to the cause of education, Nha Trang Pedagogical College received the Third, Second, and First Class Labor Medals, and many times received certificates of merit from the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Education and Training, and Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee.
Nha Trang College of Culture, Arts, and Tourism is a public school in the system of universities and colleges nationwide, under the direct management of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province. The college is managed by the Ministry of Education in terms of training content and programs. The college is a non-business unit with revenue, performing the task of training management according to the College Charter and the Education Law.
The college was established on January 8, 1978 with the original name of Phu Khanh School of Professional Reasoning, and changed its name twice to Phu Khanh Junior College of Culture and Arts and Khanh Hoa Junior College of Culture and Arts. With the rapid development in quality, scale and training professions according to the needs of society, on July 5, 2004, the Junior College was officially upgraded to Nha Trang College of Culture, Arts, and Tourism.

The main task of the college is to train and foster a team of people who work in culture, arts and tourism for the local areas, regions and nation with the following levels: Beginner, Junior College, College. It also cooperates with domestic and foreign universities for undergraduate training.
During the training process, the college has organized for students a lot of activities linking theory with practice such as organizing music performances, food shows, cultural festivals, art exhibitions, festivals, and Professional Skills contest… domestically and internationally. The college also participated in many activities and set many records at Nha Trang Sea Festival.
With the achievements in the past 36 years, Nha Trang College of Culture, Arts and Tourism was twice honored to receive the Labor Medal (Second Class, Third Class), Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister, many flags, diplomas, commendation from Ministries, Departments and many Gold and Silver medals in art festivals, sports festivals.
The establishment of the University of Khanh Hoa is the people's aspiration, reflected in the XIV, XV and XVI Provincial Resolutions of the Party Committee. This is also the aspiration of officials, employees and students of the two colleges - Nha Trang Pedagogical College and Nha Trang College of Culture, Arts and Tourism. Therefore, over the years, the Provincial People's Committee has focused on mobilizing resources to gradually establish, build and develop the University of Khanh Hoa.
