Since 1996, as accepted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam Atomic Energy Society (VAES) and Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM) have successfully organized the Vietnam Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology (VINANST) 11 times. The VINANST is an important event regarding research, deployment and application of atomic energy in Vietnam. The conference is not only a place for professionals, who are leading experts in Vietnam and abroad, to meet and exchange their research results, new applications in the field of nuclear science and technology, but also an opportunity for young researchers in Vietnam to discuss and cultivate more specialized knowledge as well as other practical skills. Since 2013, the Vietnam Conference attracted foreign researchers and becomes an International conference on Nuclear Science and Technology.

The latest conference (11th Vietnam Conference) was held in 2015 in Da Nang with more than 300 reports, presentations by prestigious experts and researchers from Vietnam and other countries. As the Conference’s scheme, the seminar on the theme of “Nuclear Power Safety: Science, Technology, Culture, and the Case of Vietnam” was held for the first time with the presentations by 10 delegates from VINATOM, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and international delegates from the Russian Federation, Japan, Sweden, South Korea, Czech Republic and the United States of America (the Westinghouse Electric Corporation). The seminar was successful and drew significant attention of native and foreign delegates.

Following the success of the 11th Vietnam Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology, VINATOM plans the 12th Conference from 2nd to 4th August, 2017, in Nha Trang city, which is of a large scale and at regional level, in order to strengthen the communication and exchange not only between scientific researchers in Vietnam but also with leading experts all over the world, on the most recent achievements and research results in the field of atomic energy. Thus, the event is expected to attract the participation of experts, scientists, field managers in Vietnam, representatives of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and from countries which possess advanced nuclear science and technology, namely Russian Federation, Japan, United States of America, United Kingdom, France, South Korea, Sweden, Czech Republic and the Southeast Asian countries.
